The NAGRA VI is an 8 channel digital recorder. There are 6 analgue inputs, 4 of which are equipped with traditional high-quality Nagra microphone preamplifiers. There are also 2 AES inputs. And it is fitted with a full SMPTE/EBU time code system including a chase synchronizer.

The unit can record 8 tracks (4 mic/line + 2 line + 2 mix) or (4 mic/line + AES A + AES B) or combinations there of.

The NAGRA VI records to a 120GB internal 2.5" hard disk. An extractable compact Flash card is used to record a copy of the audio tracks depending on the users track selections. The NAGRA VI allows approximately 15 minutes of 8-track 48 kHz 24-bit recording per GB of available disk / card space.

Optional second USB port - this option adds a second USB port with powering, capable of powering an external hard drive or CD burner (the standard port is for a keyboard only)

The Nagra EMP was designed to give two additional preamplifier stages to the inputs of the NAGRA VI, but can be used with any other recorder, to give Nagra-VI quality inputs.

The Nagra EMP has two analogue inputs on XLR connectors on the rear panel, equipped with NAGRA manufactured transformers.

In addition an internal 2-track flash based solid-state 16-bit digital audio back-up is built-in. Equipped with an internal 2 GB security back-up buffer, offering about 3 hours of recording that can be downloaded to a PC through the USB port.
