The Sound Devices 552 has proven to be an instant hit with recordists everywhere. It is an extremely versatile mixer. Its two XLR outputs can be configured for straight stereo analogue outputs or two stereo AES outputs (giving a total of four individual digital outputs - the 552 is an ideal partner for shooting PSC sound when using a camera that has a pair of digital AES inputs such as the Sony XDCAM).

The 552 is also fitted with an internal Timecoded Stereo Digital Recorder that records whatever is routed to AES1. The recorder uses standard SD / SDHC cards that are available almost everywhere!

Portabrace have recently released its MX-552 mixer bag for this Sound Devices. It follows good Portabrace tradition of a well made bag with access to all of the important bits on your mixer, it is fitted with a RM-MULTI/E radio mic pocket, an accessory pocket, rain cover, and shoulder strap.

Our MKH416 / Rycote bundles are always popular. The 416 kit comprises of a phantom powered MKH416, a Sennheiser foam wind gag, Rycote suspension, basket, windjammer and connbox. The suspension uses the latest Lyre technology which significantly reduces handling noise.
