Post Digital Switch Over compatability Sennheiser are working on an 'upgrade' for G3 systems so they can be modified to work in the new TV Ch. 38 band post DSO (Digital Switch Over). We will pass on information about this upgrade when it becomes available. But, for those who only need up to 6 systems working in a single location, using the deregulated frequencies at the bottom of TV Ch. 70 might be a good option. You can tune your G3 systems to the following frequencies now and work licence free with little worries post 2012. Use: 863.100MHz, 863.400MHz, 863.750MHz, 864.225MHz, 864.550MHz and 864.975MHz. NOTE: Evolution G2 circutry is not as advanced as G3 units and users can only work four compatible frequencies in this band.

The evolution wireless series has undergone both technical and design changes. The most obvious change that will affect you is on the pocket receivers... they now feature what Sennheiser call 'Adaptive Diversity reception', the audio output cable is rather clever and now acts as a second antennae giving the unit 'adaptive diversity' capability! Some other clever stuff exists also like being able to sync a transmitter to a receiver allowing for quicker setup times on location. Buy one and let us know how you get on with it!
