The Sanken CSS-50 is a compact three-capsule shotgun microphone with switchable Mono, Normal Stereo and Wide Stereo operating modes for production sound, broadcast and effects recording.

At 215mm long and 160g, it can move from focused dialogue capture to precise or expanded stereo ambience without changing microphones, with both channels carried on a 5-pin XLR output.

Important Notes

• Uses a 5-pin XLR output carrying separate left and right balanced channels.
• The recorder or breakout cable must support both channels; this is not a standard single-channel XLR microphone connection.
• Requires 48V phantom powering for the stereo channels.
• The supplied WM-50 is a basic urethane windscreen; stronger outdoor wind normally requires additional protection.
