Rycote 18cm Super Softie Windshield

This 18cm Super Softie with 3D-Tex fabric combines superb wind noise reduction with excellent acoustic transparency. This is the windshield only btw – if you want a shock mount as well then you need the Super Softie kit below.

The Super-Softie improves on the wind noise reduction of a conventional cavity windshield with its aerodynamic shape and the 3D-Tex fabric which combines excellent acoustic transparency with superb attenuation of wind noise. It has no rigid internal structure, so causes virtually no polar pattern distortion and is extremely robust in challenging environments such as news-gathering.

Rain can be squeezed out and the Softie can then be shaken dry very quickly and if it becomes coated with dust it can be rinsed quickly without affecting performance.

Suitable for microphones with slots no more than 18cm from the front of the mic and with a diameter between 19 - 22mm. That includes Sennheiser MKH416, MKH418, Rode NTG3, Sanken CS-3, Sony ECM670, ECM678
