The Sound Devices Astral HH is a digital wireless handheld microphone transmitter designed for professional live sound, broadcast, theatre, touring and installed audio workflows. It features SpectraBand tuning from 470 MHz to 1525 MHz, 100% digital RF modulation, NexLink remote control, GainForward and built-in 32-bit float recording.

The Astral HH is compatible with the Sound Devices CD1 dynamic capsule, as well as Shure- and Sennheiser-threaded microphone capsules using its reversible capsule collar. With a rugged magnesium, stainless steel and polycarbonate construction, 10+ hour battery runtime and a wideband RocketAntenna design, it is built for demanding handheld wireless use.

SpectraBand gives the Astral HH a wide 470 MHz – 1525 MHz tuning range, helping users find usable frequencies across different regions and RF environments. AutoAssign also speeds up setup by scanning and assigning frequencies automatically across transmitters.

Easily Add Controls

The Astral HH is supplied without external switches, helping prevent accidental changes during use. Optional interchangeable Control Rings can be added to provide physical buttons or switches, with functions configurable from the microphone menu.

Wideband Antenna Design

RocketAntenna: No Dropouts

The Astral HH uses a built-in wideband RocketAntenna designed to maintain RF performance even when the microphone is held around the lower body. This helps reduce dropouts caused by hand position during live performance.

NexLink Remote Control

Full Remote Control, Built In

NexLink gives the Astral HH long-range remote control from compatible Astral receivers and mixing workflows. Frequencies, power status and transmitter settings can be adjusted remotely, reducing the need to access the microphone during a show or production.

GainForward Control

Adjust Gain at the Console

GainForward allows gain to be managed from the console, receiver or compatible mixer workflow rather than directly on the wireless transmitter. This helps save setup time while maintaining headroom and low-noise performance.
