The Sound Devices Astral ARX16 is an 8-channel true-diversity digital wireless receiver for professional production sound workflows. It can be expanded to 12 or 16 channels using optional 4-channel software expansion licences.

Featuring SpectraBand wideband tuning from 169 MHz to 1525 MHz, NexLink transmitter control, Dante audio-over-IP, DB-25 analogue/AES outputs and browser-based Web App control, the ARX16 is suited to bag, cart, rack and remote receiver setups.

Wideband tuning

SpectraBand

SpectraBand gives the Astral ARX16 a wide tuning range of 169 - 1525 MHz in a single receiver. This helps production sound teams find usable spectrum across multiple frequency bands, with available frequencies depending on the country of operation.

Remote transmitter control

NexLink

NexLink allows compatible Astral transmitters to be controlled and monitored from the Astral ARX16 using its built-in long-distance control link. Adjust supported transmitter settings remotely, including frequency, power state and timecode sync, without needing direct access to the transmitter.

Network control

Network Away

The Astral ARX16 can be controlled from a computer, tablet or phone using its built-in Web App. With PoE+ powering, Dante audio-over-IP and network control, the receiver can be positioned remotely while audio and settings remain accessible from your main workflow.

Local gain control

GainForward

GainForward allows compatible Astral transmitters to be controlled from the Astral ARX16 or mixer-recorder, including gain, low-cut and limiter settings. This means level adjustments can be made locally at the receiver or mixer, without needing to access the transmitter directly.

Automatic frequency assignment

AutoAssign

AutoAssign scans the selected tuning band for clean frequencies and assigns them across multiple receiver channels. When used with NexLink-compatible transmitters, those frequencies can be pushed automatically to the linked transmitters.

Consumers can return most unwanted products within 30 days of receiving them, provided they meet our return conditions.
