The Sound Devices Astral ARX8 is a portable true-diversity digital wireless receiver for professional production sound workflows. It includes 4 receiver channels as standard and can be expanded to 6 or 8 channels using optional 2-channel software expansion licences.

Featuring SpectraBand tuning from 169 MHz to 1525 MHz, NexLink transmitter control, AutoAssign frequency deployment, real-time spectrum analysis and DB-25 analogue/AES outputs, the ARX8 is designed for bag, cart, rack and 8-Series mixer-recorder workflows.

Wideband tuning

SpectraBand

SpectraBand gives the Astral ARX8 a wide tuning range of 169–1525 MHz in a single receiver. This helps production sound teams find usable spectrum across multiple frequency bands, with available frequencies depending on the country of operation.

Local gain control

GainForward

GainForward allows compatible Astral transmitters to be adjusted from the Astral ARX8 or mixer-recorder. Gain, low-cut and limiter settings can be controlled locally, reducing the need to access the transmitter once it is fitted to talent.

Remote transmitter control

NexLink

NexLink provides long-distance remote control and monitoring of compatible Astral transmitters from the Astral ARX8. It supports transmitter control, timecode sync and group functions, including remote power on/off.

Real-time RF monitoring

RTSA

The integrated Real Time Spectrum Analyzer allows users to view the changing RF environment directly from the Astral ARX8. This helps with frequency coordination while receiver channels remain active.

Automatic frequency assignment

AutoAssign

AutoAssign scans the selected tuning band for clean frequencies and assigns them across multiple receiver channels. When used with NexLink-compatible transmitters, those frequencies can be pushed automatically to the linked transmitters.

How can I track my order?

What is your return policy?

Consumers can return most unwanted products within 30 days of receiving them, provided they meet our return conditions.
