The Audioroot eSMART ABE is a compact active battery eliminator that lets equipment designed for smart batteries run from an alternative DC power source. Connect a suitable AC/DC power supply, wall adapter or external battery to the TA4M input and the ABE presents a standard 5-pin smart-battery interface to the connected equipment.

The ABE also includes Audioroot's smart-battery emulation circuit. When used with compatible eSMART power distributors, it can provide useful voltage, current, power and temperature information even when the incoming DC source does not provide SMBus telemetry. Alternatively, connect a real SMBus-compatible battery through the TA4M input to use larger-capacity smart batteries with equipment normally designed for small-format batteries such as the Li-48neo and Li-49Wh.

Important Notes

• The eSMART ABE is not compatible with the Aaton Cantar Mini.
• Maximum input voltage is 18V DC; Audioroot recommends 15V DC operation.
• Maximum recommended current is 5A.
• Enable the internal emulator when using a basic external DC source with a compatible Audioroot distributor.
• Disable the emulator when a real SMBus-compatible battery is connected with power and telemetry wiring.
• In emulation mode, cycle count, capacity and runtime figures are generated values rather than real battery data.
