They support high-resolution audio playback and feature an exclusively developed driver unit with a specially shaped diaphragm, ensuring ultra-wideband, high-sensitivity playback ranging from 5Hz to 80kHz.

The driver uses a combination of materials to ensure it has the necessary mobility, while maintaining the appropriate rigidity to generate high-quality sound. The soft edge accurately reproduces low frequencies with minimal distortion, while the hard dome at the centre of the driver delivers precise and clear ultra-high frequencies.

A tuned port (Beat Response Control) acts as a ventilation hole to control low frequencies. It improves the low-frequency response time, making it possible to accurately and quickly reproduce sudden changes in sound, ensuring tight bass and accurate rhythm.

Superb comfort for long production sessions

Engineered for comfort and stability, the MDR-M1 ear pads have been carefully designed with thick, low-resilience padding to ensure airtight listening and a proper fit for various ear shapes. The impressively lightweight design (216g) provides excellent comfort for long mixing and mastering sessions. Additionally, the ear pads are replaceable, enhancing longevity for prolonged use.

Advanced connectivity

The MDR-M1 comes with two high-quality detachable cables (φ3.5mm) of different lengths, so they can be exchanged according to the connected equipment and usage environment.

A supplied screw-type plug adapter enables connection to devices with a φ6.3mm stereo standard jack. The MDR-M1 integrates seamlessly with Sony’s 360 Virtual Mixing Environment (360VME) service, freeing creators from space constraints and enhancing reproduction capabilities from virtually anywhere."
