Urchin Lavalier Windshields give miniature 2–4mm lav mics compact synthetic-fur wind protection for interviews, dialogue and location recording.

The short-length black acoustic fur is approximately 35mm across, while Radius's distinctive blue Stay-Put loop secures the windshield to the microphone. The fur can also be trimmed back when hiding a lav under clothing to help reduce rustling.

Choosing your type

Choose the standard Urchin for miniature 2–4mm lavaliers when you want more coverage than the Mini Urchin without the built-in foam core of the Puffer. Choose Mini Urchin for the lowest profile, Puffer Urchin for stronger exposed-wind protection, or Large Hole Urchin for larger 4–6mm lavaliers.

All Radius Windshields products purchased are covered by a 2-year guarantee, ensuring the product complies with the sales contract and is free from defects that existed at the time of delivery.

For help with a fault or warranty claim, please visit our Returns & Warranty page and fill out the warranty form. Soundkit will then help handle the warranty process with Deity on your behalf.

This manufacturer warranty does not cover misuse, accidental damage, unauthorised modification, improper storage, incorrect operation or normal wear-and-tear items such as cables and accessories.

Important Notes

• Designed primarily for miniature lavaliers approximately 2–4mm in diameter.
• Available as a Single or Pair; both use black synthetic acoustic fur.
• The blue safety loop should be fitted over the microphone before pushing the mic into the fur.
• Fur can be carefully trimmed for lower-profile use under clothing.
• For larger 4–6mm lavaliers such as DPA 4060 or MKE 2, choose the Large Hole Urchin.
